Comics in Class was founded out of the Oklahoma Comics Creators, a group of artists and writers creating comics in the great state of Oklahoma.

Art is disappearing from classrooms in Oklahoma due to curriculum changes and troubled funding.. Rather than stand by, we are standing up to do what we can to bring art back.  By volunteering our time and energy, we can help others do what we best: make comics. Our classroom visits show kids what it’s like to write scripts, create layouts, pencil, ink, and even publish.

Kids are all artists at heart. We want to give them the tools to live up to their potential. Just as we were inspired, we need to inspire the next generation to be the greatest it can be.
